David Candland: His Life and Work

Attached is a biography of David Candland, the pioneer forefather of the American Candlands. This biography was written by his daugther Grace. Many of the facts contained herein have been brought to question, including the coat of arms and the origin of the Candland name. Grace admits in the Foreward that she did not know her father well. (She was one of 37 children and as the daughter of Hannah was moved out to a cabin, after all.) But it's certainly filled with lots of interesting info. Yes, if I recall, I think someone told me that the coat of arms was actually from a stepfather, not biological father, and thus not the Candland one?
