Paul Candland, a descendent of David Candland's son Arthur Charles Candland, has done the family name proud with his appointment as President of The Walt Disney Company Japan. A press release dated 21 May 2007 said:
TOKYO -- The Walt Disney Company today announced the appointment of Paul Candland as the managing director of The Walt Disney Company (Japan) Ltd., effective June 1, 2007. In addition to his current role as head of Disney ABC International Television and Disney Channel, Candland will be responsible for the company's local strategy development, new business initiatives, and local brand marketing in Japan.
